Mahathir bengang bila ditanya pasai anaknya dapat kontrak RM700 juta dari Petronas...

Bekas Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad jengkel dengan soalan pemberita hari ini mengenai potensi berlaku konflik kepentingan berhubung satu kontrak baru-baru ini yang melibatkan Petronas, di mana beliau menjadi penasihat syarikat minyak negara itu.

Minggu lepas, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd dilaporkan menganugerahkan kontrak RM700 juta kepada anak syarikat milik penuh SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd. Anak Mahathir - Datuk Mokhzani - adalah naib pengerusi SapuraKencana.

Ketika ditanya semasa sidang akhbar hari ini sama ada terdapat percanggahan kepentingan dalam urusan tersebut, dengan nada penuh menyindir, Dr Mahathir berkata: 

"Ya sudah tentu, dia (Mokhzani) mendapatnya kerana saya arahkan Petronas. Masukkan itu dalam akhbar awak.

"Saya mempengerusikan segala-galanya. Saya memberitahu mereka, sila berikan kepada anak saya dan bukan orang lain. Itulah apa yang saya buat selama ini.

"Apabila saya jadi perdana menteri, segala-galanya dapat pada anak-anak saya.

"Tetapi apabila semuanya dapat pada anak-anak perdana menteri-perdana menteri lain, awak tak mahu menyebut kerana dia seorang yang baik."

SapuraKencana dilaporkan membuat dua pemakluman kepada bursa saham pada 1 November - satu mengenai anak syarikat milik penuhnya, Allied Marine & Equipment Sdn Bhd telah dianugerahkan kontrak perkhidmatan dalam laut selama tiga setengah tahun.

Satu lagi pemakluman yang difailkan pada hari yang sama, mengatakan bahawa satu lagi anak syarikat milik penuhnya, Kencana HL Sdn Bhd memperoleh kontrak RM135.8 juta daripada HESS Exploration and Production Malaysia BV untuk projek gas di medan Kamelia, yang dikatakan 150 kilometer timur laut di luar pantai Kota Bharu.

Berikutan ini, sebuah kumpulan pendesak royalti minyak meletakkan bersama satu poster yang memaparkan peta yang menunjukkan lokasi medan gas, 'screenshot' lamanweb menunjukkan Mokhzani sebagai salah seorang daripada pengarah SapuraKencana, dan keratan berita mengenai dua kontrak yang berjumlah RM836 juta.- malaysiakini

 

 Mahathir irked when quizzed about son...

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was irked by questions from reporters today over a potential conflict of interest in a recent contract involving Petronas, in which he serves as an adviser.

Last week, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd reportedly awarded a RM700 million contract to a SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd wholly-owned subsidiary. Mahathir’s son Mokhzani is a vice-chairperson of the latter company.

Mahathir replied in a sarcastic tone when asked during a press conference today whether there was conflict of interest in the deal.

“Yes of course, he (Mokhzani) is given it because I instructed Petronas. Put that in your paper.

“I presided over everything. I told them, please give to my son and not to anybody else. That’s what I have been doing all the time.

“When I was the prime minister, everything was given to my children.

“But when everything goes to the children of the other prime ministers, you don’t want to mention because he is a nice man.

“He enables you to read, doesn't he?” Mahathir said in reply.

SapuraKencana reportedly made two stock exchange filings on Nov 1, with one saying that its wholly-owned subsidiary Allied Marine & Equipment Sdn Bhd was awarded the contract for three-anda-half years of underwater services.

A separate deal was also filed on the same day, saying that another wholly-owned subsidiary, Kencana HL Sdn Bhd, secured a RM135.8 million contract from HESS Exploration and Production Malaysia BV for a gas project at the Kamelia field, supposedly 150km  northeast off the coast of Kota Bharu.

Following this, an oil royalty pressure group put together a poster featuring a map showing the location of the gas field, a screenshot of SapuraKencana’s website showing Mokhzani as one of its directors, and a news clipping of the two contracts, totalling RM836 million.

He knows he has nothing to worry about since his other Umno fellows have also being doing the same. Besides, he knows that he is above the law - in fact he is the law himself.

Fair&Just Wow! - Such blatant display of arrogance and disdain for the law and order of this country for his is the hand that changed the law in his favour in the pursuit of all his greed and crimes to the nation like for eg. the official secret act where many govt projects and purchases are classified and corruptly disseminated to collaborators.
