Deepak Jaikishan - Wanita's Raja Ropiaah 'stole' land while Najib's family made 'millions' ...

It looks like Deepak Jaikishan, known for his close ties to Rosmah Mansor the wife of Prime Minister Najib Razak, is no longer so happy with the controversial first couple or their Umno party mates.

Deepak, a carpet trader who is branching out into bigger business, has accused Umno women's wing leader Senator Raja Ropiaah Abdullah of 'stealing' land from his company Astacanggih Sdn Bhd and reselling a portion of it to a third party.

In his exposures to Malaysia Chronicle at an exclusive interview, Deepak also alleged that a member of Najib's family had taken a 'commission' worth millions for Najib's role in getting the land owned by the Ministry of Defense privatized to Raja Ropiaah in 2005 under a project called Puspahanas.

"Ropiaah has no previous experience at all but based on Najib's recommendation, she got the deal," Deepak told Malaysia Chronicle.

He declined to name who in Najib's family had allegedly pocketed the 'commission' but speculation is rife that it may have been Rosmah herself as she usually takes care of Najib's business matters.

Puspahanas, which stands for Pusat Pengajian Pertahanan National, is a project granted to Ropiaah's firm Awan Megah (M) Sdn Bhd. Awan was granted the land to build and set up a research centre akin to Britain's intelligence unit MI5 for the Malaysian Defense Ministry.

Made millions

Deepak, who burst into national prominence following a shock revelation related to Najib's scandalous purchase of two Scorpene submarines and the mysterious murder of a Mongolian translator, denied harboring any political motives.

"No, this is for me. I am not acting for any factions inside Umno who want to attack Najib or Raja Ropiaah. Neither am I acting for the Opposition," said Deepak.

He further accused Najib, who was then the Defense minister, of "not taking responsibility" for the transaction which is now "stuck".

"I have had enough of all this. I am a businessman and this is taking to long. I have written letters to Najib but he is not doing a thing. He is just sitting on it," said Deepak.

"As for Raja Ropiah, she is just like her mentor Shahrizat Jalil. The difference is that Shahrizat didn't put her name on anything but Ropiaah did."

Just like her mentor?

Deepak was referring to former Women's Minister Shahrizat Jalil, whose husband has been charged for criminal breach of trust over the RM250mil National Feedlot Corp debacle.

Shahrizat remains the Umno Wanita chief but her Senator's appointment was not renewed and was given to Raja Ropiaah in April. There are many within Umno's women's wing who refer to Ropiaah as the 'de-facto' chief following Shahrizat's disgrace and fall from power.

Meanwhile, Raja Ropiaah declined comment other than to say that her lawyers will look into the matter.
"At this point, I don't wish to comment but will let my lawyers handle it. Deepak has been going around saying all sorts of things. We want to know what his accusations are and take the next step from then on," Raja Ropiaah told Malaysia Chronicle.

Ropiaah's lawyers to handle matter

Deepak has lodged a police report against Raja Ropiaah and her company Awan Megah. His company is also suing the Ministry of Defense, the land and mining office Pejabat Tanah dan Galian, Raja Ropiaah and Awan Megan for specific performance, not releasing the titles and for "stealing the land".  (scroll below for scans of the documents)

According to Deepak, the land involving 223 acres in Bukit Raja Selangor was sold to Raja Ropiaah at RM7 per sq ft, sold again to Deepak at RM12 per sq fit. It is now worth about RM40 per sq ft or RM400 million.

Deepak also alleged that Raja Ropiaah sold a portion of this acreage to GuppyUnip Sdn Bhd at RM16 per sq ft.

"As far as we are concerned, she's a thief and we are suing her for stealing our land," said Deepak

Deepak Jaikishan - Rosmah Mansor pelanggan kedai karpet saya...

Masa itulah nama kita naik.Sememangnya kita tidak suka, kita suka low profile.

Sebelum ini tidak ada apa-apalah?

Takda, kita senyap-senyap buat bisnes kita. Di Malaysia, kalau kita high profile bukan senang kita nak buat bisnes.

Macamana pulak saudara terlibat dalam kes Bala. Ia menjadi persoalan kepada orang ramai?

Ini kes mahu tolong kawan. Pada kita dia kawan yang setialah. Jadi kita tolong.

Saya tolong keluarga Datuk Seri Najib.

Saudara memang kenal Bala?

Saya dipanggil waktu tengah malam, "You boleh tak selesaikan masalah ini...its a big problem".

Jadi selepas itulah nama saudara menjadi popular?

Jadi apa tindakan saudara?

Kita tunjuklah ketidakpuasan hati kita, perniagaan kita terjejas. Kalau you anggap saya sebagai kawan, you besar atau kecil, kawan tetap kawan, kita mesti tolong. Kalau tidak boleh tolong, jangan susahkan. Jangan makan kawan.

Deepak - saya terlibat dgn Bala atas permintaan seorang "teman wanita"...

Deepak regrets getting involved in Bala's SD...

Businessperson Deepak Jaikishan regretted his involvement in getting private investigator P Balasubramaniam to make a second statutory declaration (SD), which reversed an earlier one linking Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to murdered Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

NONEIn an interview with Malaysiakini last night, Deepak (left) said he had only become involved at the request of a "female friend" associated with the parties who would be affected by the fallout of the first statutory declaration.

“I was asked to help by a friend, I agreed to help her because I could see the repercussions will affect their entire group. It was to me - getting involved in this whole Bala fiasco - a mistake," he said.

“I had no business being there, I am a businessman. I regret helping a friend whom I thought was true... I am not supposed to be involved in this James Bond movie."

Deepak declined to elaborate on the identity of the female friend.

NONEHe is, however, known to be closely linked to the premier's wife Rosmah Mansor, whom he said was like an "older sister" to him.

Asked to elaborate on his regrets, after a long pause, Deepak replied: “Would you not regret getting involved in something so murky, that involves murder, that involves so many things which are so negative, would you not regret it? Anybody would regret it.”

The carpet merchant said the fiasco had created a “negative aura” for him as a businessperson.

Balasubramaniam, who had gone public with the first SD on July 3, 2008 had abruptly withdrawn it at another press conference the following day.

Accompanied by lawyer M Arulampalam that day, Balasubramaniam had produced a second SD, claiming that he had made the first one under duress and fled the country the next day.

p balasubramaniam private investigator altantuya murder case 040708 01Balasubramaniam (left in photo) re-emerged on Nov 12, 2009 in the form of a five-part YouTube video interview - believed to be shot in India - retracting his second SD and claiming that he had only made it after being offered RM5 million by Deepak.

Deepak, who only addressed the controversy on April 6, 2011 after whistleblower Raja Petra Kamarudin revived the matter, dismissed his links to Balasubramaniam as a mere clubbing mate.

'I brought everyone together for SD 2.0'

However, in the interview yesterday, Deepak said there was a “tinge of truth” to what the private eye had been claiming in the SD saga.

Explaining his role, Deepak said he was responsible for facilitating the meeting between Balasubramaniam and the party that was implicated by the first SD.

“It was damage control to stop the problem... I was tasked - don’t ask who tasked me - with getting him to agree to sign another SD, not because of the (first) SD itself but because of the repercussions that will happen the next day if that (first) SD was not reversed,” he said.

“For today, let’s just put it this way, we assisted, we did not draft (the second SD)... it was not (drafted by) the same lawyer that appeared (at the press conference) the next day, it was (by) a completely different lawyer.

“We assisted in getting everybody together but the first lawyer was not mine, it was sent by the people who were in the group (implicated in the first SD) that we merely put in the same room,” he said.

Asked if the RM5 million incentive Balasubramaniam claimed he was offered for doing the second SD was true, Deepak replied: “Knowing Bala, he would not have done it for nothing.”

However, when pressed if the money came from him or from the parties implicated by the first SD, Deepak declined to elaborate, stating that this may be revealed in future interviews.

berjaya times square hotelIn July this year, Balasubramaniam, who briefly re-emerged in Kuala Lumpur, had told Malaysiakini that Deepak had tried to bribe him a second time, this time with RM200,000 and an apartment at Times Square (right), for the private eye to produce a video recording implicating opposition figures for making him retract his second SD.

For this, Balasubramaniam claimed that an intermediary by the name of Suresh had banked in RM100,000 in advance into the account of the former’s wife, but he later had the money transferred to his lawyer, asking that it be returned to Deepak.

‘No one returned any money to me’

Responding to this, Deepak said: “I read about this in the papers, about him wanting to return money to me, but I never got any money from him or his lawyer - that’s the truth.

“I don’t know where this RM100,000 scenario came into play, because out of the blue he came and mentioned about this RM100,000 he wanted to return to me.

“Of course, if he has taken money from me and he wants to return (it to me), very good lah."

Deepak refused to respond further to repeated questions on Balasubramaniam’s second round of allegations, stating that he may do so another time.

“I also want to get the Bala matter off my chest. I think as a businessman, I don’t want this cloud hanging over my head and it is best that it is resolved at the right time, (but) not tonight,” he said.

Asked if he has decided to go public on this because of a particular business dispute over land with the powers-that-be, he replied: “Nothing... We have done other bigger building transactions through the same group and the same people.”

However, asked if the “same people” meant Najib, Deepak nodded silently, and when queried for details, he replied: “Not today”.- malaysiakini

Gerard Lourdesamy - Hopefully Deepak does not "retract" his statements tomorrow after the "Najib & Rosmah" gang promise him some new "deals"! I suggest that he goes under the radar before he ends up being blown up like the unfortunate Altantuya. But these revelations are stunning in that they corroborate in material respects what Bala had been saying about the 2nd SD. And in effect it means that the contents of the 1st SD were probably true. Why is the AG and the MACC keeping quiet now with this new compelling evidence literally from a party involved in a criminal conspiracy to pervert the course of justice? This is a bonus for the PR. What man proposes, God disposes. The timing was superb coming after Rosmah's comments about public morality yesterday. Now Fat Mama has egg all over her face!

Pemerhati - This Najib and Rosmah don’t seem to be very clever and are really very ‘kedekut’ and do not keep their promises. They don’t seem to realise that if you are doing something illegal and wrong with the help of other people then you must keep these people happy by giving them the rewards you promised them for doing your dirty work. They would not be in such a difficult position now if they and their friend Razak Baginda, after collecting about RM400 million from the Scorpene deal had just given Altantuya the small sum of less than a million that she demanded for her services. Subsequently it looks like Bala was promised RM5 million for signing the second affidavit but they made him angry by giving him only a fraction of that amount and probably that is why Bala come out and spilled the beans. Now it looks like Najib and Rosmah for some similar reason have made Deepak angry and he is going to spill some more beans. Knowing what happened to Altantuya, Deepak better look after his safety.

chew wee chai - Mr. Deepak,I wish you had kept your mouth shut .By making such statements now you are breaking the heart of all malaysians.Either you should have come out much much earlier and since you have appeared on the scene now, why come out in riddles and piece meals revealations. Why not come out with the whole truth and nothing but the truth. This is a vital period with the elections looming over our head. We want to elect a person whom we can trust and put our hopes and future of our children in the hands of an honourable man and not in the hand of a person with a shadowy background. I hope by going piece meal revealations you are not hoping for an OFFER. Please come out with the truth and do a service to this beautiful nation.

Humblevoice - This carpet man revealed a little bit, but kept a lot in reserve. Clearly he is playing an extortion game, waiting for an offer to stop him from revealing further - or a counter offer to goad him from revealing more. Obviously he has gone out of favour, but would not allow himself to be discarded like a piece of used toilet paper. He has gone rouge, acting like a free agent like what Bala has been doing. It is going to be another headache for that lady friend of his and the powers-that-be. It looks like there is no way to contain this Altantuya/Scoprene scandal. With so many parties willing to pay handsome 'rewards', who knows who will be the next coming forward with yet another explosive revelations?

SKT - "I help you, you help me"...this Deepak obviously knew what he was getting involved into, now he is just regretting that he couldn't get what he thought he could get from his female friend by helping her.

Carpet dealer says Wanita Umno leader cheated him in land deal
