PKR's Renegades - not differences of opinion but $$$$........

When 2 PKR and 1 DAP frogs in Perak jumped ship, Pakatan Rakyat supporters were mad not because these under performed lawmakers betrayed the thrust of their voters but they brought down the government of Pakatan Rakyat in Perak. As usual Najib threw money all around and promised that their 'cases' will be taken care off.

Many wondered why a number of PKR MPs started leaving the party and what was the real issue?. Is it because differences of opinion or rather a lost of confidence in Anwar's leadership? Maybe those who decided to leave the party should just be labelled opportunists........

Zahrain is the President of Bukit Jambul Golf & Country Club, which is Penang State-owned. He wanted to be given the maintenance job of the Club. Thinking "the UMNO mentality" will work here, he formed a RM2.00 company and wanted Lim Guan Eng to offer him the job. But Lim Guan Eng insisted on an open tender for the maintenance job thats worth about RM3 million per year and over rode his selection of Zaharin's RM2.00 company. Naturally, Zahrain went berserk.

Tan Tee Beng was reported, recommended his relative for a PBA job and looked up to Lim Guan Eng for curry favour, but Lim Guan Eng refused and that made Tan Tee Beng mad. It's reported that he has gambling debts and the loan sharks or along are camped outside his house so he has no choice but to accept the offer of RM2 million from BN/UMNO.

After Dr.Mansor's defeat in the March 2008 election, Fairuz was the great Malay hope and went on to be Penang's DCM 1. However his inability to be punctual was the most troubling of his weakness. Nobody seemed to know for sure why he was often late. Some sources said that his ma'am played a vital role in his making.

Salehuddin Hashim, the sec-gen was said to offer his services for free. According to Syed Husin Ali he agreed to accept RM9,000 a month remuneration, although earlier he requested for US$3,000 monthly. The sum was not paid by the party but by a supporter. He always blamed the party for not utilizing him to the fullest. Salehuddin's anger towards the party leadership climaxed when his “application” to be CEO of Syarikat Perangsang, which carries a monthly emolument of more than RM50,000, was rejected. He's seen to be the mastermind behind these spate of resignation. Now, Najib can pay him more than what he ask for.

Mohsin Fadzli Samsuri, the MP from Bagan Serai was the least expected lawmaker that came to my mind to quit PKR. I knew this guy well, was my classmate, a quiet and preserved fellow who seldom open his mouth. No wonder you dont see any action from him in Parliament. He comes from an average 'orang banjar' family. Probably he couldnt offer much, being an opposition member to his constituents compared to Datuk Zainal Abidin Zin, UMNO's ex-minister that he defeated, who used to splash money around. His disagreement with the party’s stand on the ‘Allah’ issue is a lame excuse.

I wonder what Wee Choo Keong reasons for leaving PKR? Wee Choo Keong is not even a PKR member, he is the chairman of MDP but stood on PKR ticket. He's involved with two mistresses and one who has just given birth and UMNO has threatened to expose this scandal. He's also has this RM35 million legal problem with Ambank hanging over his head.

As for Zulkifli Nordin, the ex-PAS member who wanted to be a candidate in the 2004 election but was turned down by PAS because PAS knew he was problematic then. Well old habits never change, thats what people say. So lets wait and see whether he will join the other frogs?

Najib, UMNO and BN will have a field day catching these frogs in the hope that Najib's gomen will retain its 2/3 majority in Parliament soon. Thus, that will allow them to redraw the constituency boundaries so as to ensure UMNO/BN will retain power for another 50 years.

Probably, I wont be around then to see the fun.........
